Little Life Skills
In order to build a house, you must start from the ground up!!! If the foundation is weak, the house will fall. Little Life Skills is a children’s mentoring curriculum that focuses on the development of problem-solving skills, awareness of unsafe situations, and daily core values implemented through basic life skill training.
Little Life Skills offers a multifaceted approach to educating children on essential life skills, encompassing an animated series, book series, and curriculum. The series centers around Steven and his crew, presenting a compelling narrative where they confront various challenges and collaborate to find solutions.
Central to the series is the theme of collaboration, emphasizing the value of working together to achieve common goals. As Steven and his crew navigate challenges, they exemplify effective communication, empathy, and problem-solving strategies, serving as role models for viewers and readers alike.
Complementing the narrative elements, the accompanying curriculum provides educators and parents with practical activities and discussion points aligned with each storyline. This integration enhances the educational experience, enabling children to apply the lessons from the series in real-world contexts.
Little Life Skills seamlessly blends entertainment with education, empowering children to cultivate essential life skills that will serve them well in adulthood. Whether through animated adventures, captivating books, or interactive curriculum, the series inspires a generation of collaborative problem-solvers, fostering a holistic approach to skill development.
Mission Statement
The mission is to educate (PK-5th grade students) with the information needed to support higher learning and prepare them for their everyday walk in life. The mission is to implement “Real World” learning scenarios that will allow them to think critically while applying the proper problem-solving skills through “life skill training”.
“I believe in preparation; therefore, we must prepare our students for what they will be facing in life.” Raymond Patterson.
The Curriculum
The curriculum combines an engaging cartoon and a book series. The cartoon and book series are compiled of everyday life situations children experience and can identify with. Our goal is to engage the students in learning life skills by giving them a curriculum that is reader-friendly, fun, and recognizable to them. The books are composed of problem/ solution stories with scenarios that cause the child to analyze a situation, recognize a problem, and develop a solution by using core values taught through life skills training. The curriculum also includes a teacher’s guide and student workbook. The teacher's guide is user-friendly and consists of discussion questions to facilitate the children’s learning. The accompanying workbook has multiple teaching strategies that reinforce the vocabulary of basic life skills.
This curriculum can be assessed through our online platform, audiobooks, cartoon series, and children’s books. Also, “Little Life Skills” provides student workbooks to assist students in their learning.
